Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the providers to document and update patient medical records in the EMR
- Room patients and checking vital signs
- Prepare medication refill requests for the provider to prescribe
- Scan and attach medical records into patient charts
- Performing patient call-backs
- Prepare the exam rooms and procedure suite for patient care
- Act as a point of contact between the providers and pharmacies
Required Technical Skills Medical Assistant Experience Proficient knowledge of medical terminology 1+ years’ experience in MA positions
- Experience obtaining prior-authorizations for medications and radiology procedures
- Prior experience charting in an EMR
- Minimum Typing Speed: 40WPM
Alternative Skills:
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks based on importance Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Must be comfortable and quick on a computer
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite & multi-line phones
