Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care and support clinical operations in this outpatient cardiology practice. Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake by collecting comprehensive medical histories and documenting current health concerns using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure in multiple different patient positions to determine if there is a difference sitting and standing
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treadmill tests and tilt table tests, placing and training patients on heart rhythm monitors and other procedures in this outpatient clinic.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols
- Prepare patients for outpatient cardiac procedures or other diagnostic tests by explaining procedures and ensuring proper positioning
- Conduct basic clinical tasks such as ICD coding for diagnoses, updating patient records accurately, and managing medical supplies
- Calling patients back with information to the patients based on reviews of tests, labs, and patient questions.
- Occassionally answering phones and checking in patients when the office manager is out.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Medical Assistant in outpatient or inpatient settings is desired but not necessary.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation and patient record management
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding and medication administration procedures
- Basic life support (BLS) certification is required
- Cardiology care experience would be nice, but not absolutely necessary, we will train

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
