Key Responsibilities
Evaluation & Intervention

Conduct comprehensive school-based evaluations, re-evaluations, and functional assessments

Develop goals, objectives, and individualized intervention plans
-
Provide direct occupational therapy services within educational environments
-
Adapt materials, equipment, and environments to support student access and participation
-
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on data and team collaboration
Collaboration & Consultation
-
Collaborate with educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success
-
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development, accommodations, and service recommendations
-
Provide consultation to staff and families regarding positioning, sensory regulation, accessibility, and functional participation
-
Recommend and support the implementation of assistive technology and adaptive equipment
-
Deliver training and educational support to school staff and district personnel
Professional Responsibilities
-
Manage a caseload of students ages 3–21 across assigned school sites

Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, progress reports, Medicaid billing (if applicable), and service logs
-
Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) and fieldwork students in accordance with Arkansas regulations, as assigned
-
Collaborate with families and educational teams to support student achievement and independence

Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice initiatives
Requirements
-
Master's or Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
-
Current Arkansas Occupational Therapist License issued by the Arkansas State Medical Board
-
Current NBCOT certification
-
Eligible to work in Arkansas public schools

Ability to travel between assigned school sites

Experience working with pediatric populations preferred
-
School-based experience preferred but not required
Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of pediatric and school-based occupational therapy practices

Ability to conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop educationally relevant interventions

Strong communication, collaboration, and consultation skills
-
Experience with assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and sensory-based interventions
-
Ability to manage a diverse caseload across multiple educational settings
-
Excellent organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
-
Ability to lift, transfer, and position students, equipment, and materials (up to 50 lbs occasionally)

Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and floor-level activities
-
Use of adaptive, mobility, and therapeutic equipment
-
Work across classrooms, therapy rooms, playgrounds, community-based instruction sites, and other educational environments
