Legend is a full-service environmental laboratory in the Phoenix area. Legend offers a wide range of environmental testing services and primarily serves municipal and private water utilities, environmental consulting firms, and industry.
We are currently looking for an entry level, full-time Chemist I. This position will be responsible primarily for running Biochemical Oxygen Demand analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Perform methods, data recording, and data validation using prescribed methods.
- Perform wet chemical analysis including but not limited to: Total Suspended Solids, Total Dissolved Solids, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, pH, etc.
- Organize incoming projects and meet holding and client time schedules.
- Able to perform analysis with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis.
- Perform other duties as necessary
Qualifications
- Entry level laboratory position for persons with a Bachelors degree in chemistry or equivalent
- Must be able to work in a laboratory and work with chemicals including solvents, acids, bases, and standards
- Time management ability
- Ability to follow instructions

- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Able to lift 40 lbs
Job Details
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20/hour (subject to change based on experience)
Schedule:
- Sunday through Thursday (8AM - 5PM)
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry (or equivalent) -OR- a minimum of two years experience working in a chemistry laboratory and a high school diploma.
