Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Support medical teams by preparing patients for procedures, assisting with medical documentation, and ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Provide specialized care in areas such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or behavioral health as needed
- Administer medications under supervision and assist with medication management following strict protocols
- Maintain a safe environment by practicing aseptic techniques and infection control procedures in compliance with hospital or facility standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across settings like ICU, emergency medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or hospice to deliver comprehensive patient care
Experience
- Prior experience working in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is highly valued
- Experience in long-term care facilities including assisted living and nursing homes is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges enhances your application
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or other relevant healthcare certifications is required or preferred
- Experience in acute or sub-acute care settings such as post-acute facilities or outpatient clinics will strengthen your candidacy
- Familiarity with specialized areas like infectious disease care, pediatric or geriatric patient populations adds value
