About the Role
The Consumer Loan Processor (TRID) is responsible for supporting the consumer lending team by ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely processing of consumer loan files with a focus on loans subject to TRID from approval through closing and booking. This role focuses on due diligence, document preparation, coordination with third parties, and maintaining complete and organized loan files within the Bank’s systems.
Core Responsibilities
- Perform due diligence on loan files to ensure completeness and compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare residential lending disclosures, Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, and complete loan closing packages.
- Coordinate with title companies and other third parties to order title work and facilitate timely loan closings.
- Book loans to the core system and process related tickets, ensuring accurate data entry.
- Maintain loan files within the Bank’s document management system (AMP).
- Track, manage, and resolve post-closing ticklers such as insurance, tax returns, and other required documentation.
- Perfect collateral liens, including Deeds of Trust, titles, and UCC filings; process UCC searches and filings as needed.
- Process loan maintenance requests including loan changes, rate adjustments, and payoffs.
- Perform post-processing quality control by cross-checking booked loans for accuracy and completeness.
- Provide support to both consumer and commercial loan processing teams to ensure efficient workflow and strong internal service.
Compliance & Training
- Adhere to all bank policies and applicable regulations, including BSA, Patriot Act, and CFPB.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with consumer lending regulations, including TRID, Regulation B, Regulation Z, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, and all applicable federal and state lending disclosure, timing, and fair-lending requirements.
- Complete required training within established timeframes.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in banking, finance, or a related field.
- Prior experience in loan processing, loan operations, or banking support functions.
- Working knowledge of residential lending regulations.
- Familiarity with loan documentation systems and core banking platforms (i.e. LaserPro, ProSign, Byte, etc.)
- Understanding of collateral perfection, including real estate liens, titles, and UCC filings.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Completion of a formalized bank credit training program is highly preferred.
- Proven knowledge of federal and state banking regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting or standing.
- Frequent typing and repetitive hand movements.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
