Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula tailored to 2-year-old developmental milestones, incorporating literacy education, physical activity, and social-emotional learning.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes safety, independence, and curiosity among toddlers.
- Manage daily classroom routines, including lesson planning, circle time activities, and transition management to ensure smooth and engaging experiences.
- Use effective behavior management and classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior and support individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns through meetings, reports, or informal updates.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws and uphold child welfare standards at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment strategies—including standardized testing—and early intervention programs to support diverse learning needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with young children in a preschool or daycare setting, especially with toddlers aged 2 years old.
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction, childhood development principles, and early childhood education best practices.
- Demonstrated skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or early intervention are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent communication and team collaboration.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure safety and compliance.
- Experience with literacy education, math instruction for young children, and physical education activities is highly desirable.
- Ability to create an inclusive environment that supports children’s emotional well-being and social skills development.
