Flight Power Repair Group, LLC. is a privately held corporation headquartered in Doral, Florida specializing in providing MRO solutions for the aerospace and industrial markets. We specialize in the repair and overhaul of commercial jet engine components for CFMI CFM56-ALL Series, GE CF6-80C, CF34-ALL Series, Rolls Royce RB211 and Pratt & Whitney PW4000. We also offer repair and overhaul services for industrial turbine components on the Pratt & Whitney GG4/FT4, and GG8/FT8 aero-derivative gas turbines. In addition, Flight Power Repair Group provides a wide range of specialized services for engines, aircraft and landing gear applications which include; Vacuum Heat Treat, Solution and Precipitation Heat Treat, Stress Relief, Shotpeening, Plasma Spray, Cleaning, Ultrasonic Inspection, FPI & FMPI, Welding, Machining, protective coating applications.
The Detail Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and conducting thorough inspections of aircraft components and parts that have undergone repair or refurbishment. This position requires a detail-oriented and experienced individual who is committed to ensuring that all parts meet stringent regulatory and safety standards, while also adhering to internal procedures and industry regulations.
General Responsibilities:
- Inspect repaired aircraft parts, including engines, airframes, avionics, and landing gear components, ensuring that quality standards are met.
- Ensure all inspections are conducted in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and other relevant aviation regulations and industry standards.
- Direct and guide inspectors in the use of precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to assess the integrity and dimensional accuracy of parts.
- Review and approve technical documentation, such as repair reports, part specifications, and engineering drawings, to ensure adherence to proper procedures during the repair process.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, documenting pass/fail results and any discrepancies or corrective actions taken.
- Identify and address defects or non-conformance issues, collaborating with the repair team to implement corrective actions or additional repairs.
- For NDT inspectors only, oversee the performance of non-destructive testing (NDT), including ultrasonic, eddy current, and dye penetrant inspections as required.
- Ensure compliance with all quality control processes and safety standards at all stages of the inspection process.
- Collaborate with engineers, repair technicians, and other personnel to resolve technical issues and streamline inspection processes.
- Stay informed on the latest industry standards, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to ensure continuous improvement in inspection practices.
- Support internal audits, investigations, and compliance checks as necessary, ensuring all team activities align with company policies and external regulations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification in aircraft maintenance, avionics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems, parts, materials, and aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, etc.).
- Proven experience in supervising or leading inspection teams, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and conducting inspection techniques.
- Certification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or other relevant technical certifications is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direct the team to meet objectives.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to safety regulations.
- Willingness to take on varying responsibilities as the needs of the department evolve.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily performed in a repair shop or hangar environment.
- Requires standing, walking, and the ability to lift moderate weights (up to 50 pounds).
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
- May require occasional travel or overtime depending on workload and deadlines.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical certification in aircraft maintenance, avionics, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, parts, materials, and aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA, etc.).
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods, such as ultrasonic, eddy current, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle testing, is required. NDT Level I, II, or III certification preferred (if applicable).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make sound decisions in a leadership capacity.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must pass background checks and comply with safety regulations.
