The General Manager, reporting to the COO, is responsible for leading the Mission, Vision and Culture of Mercy Wellness, developing a high-performing team that consistently delivers a customer experience beyond expectations. This position requires an independent, mature leader who can multitask administrative duties while overseeing the floor, product flow and cash management. We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our retail team in setting higher standards and creating memorable customer experiences.
Responsibilities include:
- Hire, train, manage, motivate and empower retail teams to maximize their skills through daily operational excellence, leading by example. Placing the right people in the right positions
- Monitor and manage labor through thoughtful scheduling, maintaining appropriate staffing levels to ensure a superior guest experience
- Continually monitor employee productivity, attitudes and performance, providing regular feedback and coaching; conduct annual performance reviews
- Inventory management
- Ensures daily operating procedures and policies are being followed to DCC and Company regulations
- Partner with marketing team on community outreach and in-store events
- Provides retail staff with the tools they need to confidently move through customer interactions
- Collaborates with leadership teams on creating centralized program to facilitate returns, credits, exchanges and promos
- Continuously measure customer experience by using appropriate tools such as online reviews, satisfaction surveys, and KPI’s
- Regularly communicates with department leads and staff to discuss strengths, opportunities and trends in the business to maximize potential growth areas
- Support and maintain visual merchandising standards including cleanliness, pricing, signage and displays
- Demonstrate sales leadership by playing an active role on the sales floor through customer engagement, setting the example, ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided
- Collaborate with HR to assist in employee onboarding, training and staff development
- Oversee delivery operations, ensuring timely and efficient execution of all deliveries
- Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements related to delivery operations
- Coordinate and monitor vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections to ensure fleet reliability and operational readiness

Education/Experience:
- 5+years customer service, working in retail, sales and/or hospitality management
- Associate/Bachelor degree preferred
- Cannabis industry and or wellness industry desirable
- Must be 21+ years of age and pass a criminal background check
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
This is a salaried, exempt position requiring at least a 5 day work week with long hours and flexibility to work varied shifts, opening and closing required. Work will generally be performed in a fast paced retail cannabis dispensary with moderate noise levels, involving frequent contact with customers and staff. Regularly requires long hours of standing and walking and ability to bend, lift and stretch. Frequent use of office equipment and cleaning supplies.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
