Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Registered Nurse to join our team in providing comprehensive nursing support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across our residential locations in Washington DC and Suburban Maryland. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, ensuring adherence to medical protocols and standards. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care to patients in various settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular health assessments and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Track and implement medical recommendations from healthcare providers in a timely manner.
- Document and follow up on all medical appointments and specialist recommendations.
- Complete and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual medical reports using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Perform weekly Medication Administration Record (MAR) reviews and ensure compliance.
- Train and supervise staff on medication administration procedures and best practices.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and manage hospital admissions/discharges.
- Ensure timely completion of all nursing documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in care planning meetings and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain professional relationships with residents, families, and healthcare providers.
- Monitor implementation of treatment plans and adjust care strategies as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland & Washington DC practice.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in developmental disabilities, long-term care, or related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new healthcare software systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between multiple locations in DC/Maryland area.
