POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION: 2nd Shift Quality Control Inspector
HOURS: 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM with overtime as needed
REPORTS TO: Quality Team Leader
FLSA / SALARY BAND: Non-Exempt / Production Wage Scale
Plus $0.50 QC Inspector Differential
Position Summary
The Quality Control inspector is to inspect mirrors for any defects after Injection or Assembly process to ascertain conformance to customer standards. The Quality Control inspector reports to the Quality Team Leader and is responsible for maintaining Safety, Quality, and Production standards on an assembly line.
- Follow all safety rules and ISO requirements.
- Assure that work practices are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
- Examines work piece for defects based on internal and customer standards.
- Must be able to make OK/NG judgments based on defined standards.
· Mark the workpiece to indicate the defective area.
· Records the number and type of units rejected and the reasons for rejection.
· Able to communicate with the Team Leader
· Maintain proper 5’s for the assigned area.
- Work with department managers to identify Kaizens.
- Ability to support daily production, as necessary.
- Responsible for following the rotation schedule set by management.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by Management.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- 3 months’ Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions and safety rules.
- Must be able to follow directions, standardized work, and work instructions.
- Must be able to visualize similar colors.
- Able to solve basic mathematical problems.
- Must have an excellent work ethic and be dependable.
- Must have creativity and an eye for detail.
- Must be able to work in a team or independently.
- Daily attendance is an essential function of the position.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is frequently required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. The Team member is occasionally required to climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Team Members must wear an orange vest at all times due to the high-traffic forklift area. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close, distance, and color vision. Expected daily job attendance is required for departmental needs.
