Isaiah Luke Appliance Repair is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead HVAC Installer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for leading residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires the ability to manage installation crews, communicate effectively with customers, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and perform residential and light commercial HVAC system installations.
- Install and replace furnaces, air handlers, heat pumps, condensers, ductwork, thermostats, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and installation instructions.
- Ensure all installations comply with local codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
- Train, mentor, and supervise HVAC helpers and apprentices.
- Verify proper system startup, testing, balancing, and performance.
- Troubleshoot installation-related issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain accurate job documentation and inventory records.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding project timelines, system operation, and maintenance recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Coordinate with office staff and service technicians to ensure smooth project completion.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of HVAC installation experience.
- Proven experience leading HVAC installation projects and crews.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems and installation best practices.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Certification (required or ability to obtain immediately).
- HVAC trade school certification.
- Experience with duct design and fabrication.
- NATE Certification or other industry certifications.
- Experience with heat pumps, mini-splits, and high-efficiency systems.
