Logistics & Warehouse Operations Coordinator
Mira International Foods — Beaufort, South Carolina (On-Site)
About the Role
Mira International Foods is seeking a highly organized, detail-obsessed Logistics & Warehouse Operations Coordinator to be the operational nerve center of our Beaufort, SC warehouse. This person owns the flow of goods in and out of the facility — scheduling carriers and drivers, coordinating container drayage from the port, verifying inbound containers, and confirming outbound orders ship complete and on time. You will be the critical link between our Warehouse, Operations, Logistics, and Sales teams — both on-site and remote — keeping every moving part synchronized so operations run flawlessly.
If you take pride in a perfectly run dock, catch the discrepancy everyone else missed, and thrive on keeping drivers, containers, and orders moving like clockwork, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Carrier & Driver Management
- Schedule and manage all carrier appointments for inbound and outbound shipments, optimizing dock door and labor availability
- Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and carrier dispatchers; coordinate arrivals, departures, and detention/wait times
- Communicate appointment windows, documentation requirements, and check-in procedures to all parties in advance
Container & Drayage Coordination
- Arrange drayage of containers from the Port of Savannah / Port of Charleston to the Beaufort facility, coordinating with drayage providers and tracking container status
- Monitor vessel arrivals, last free days, demurrage, and per diem to avoid unnecessary port and detention charges
- Schedule container returns and empty pickups to keep the yard and dock clear
Inbound Receiving
- Verify incoming containers and shipments against packing lists, bills of lading, and purchase orders; confirm quantities, lot numbers, and product condition
- Document and escalate any shortages, overages, damages, or discrepancies immediately
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of received goods into the ERP/inventory system
Outbound Order Fulfillment
- Review and verify outgoing orders for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with customer (retail) requirements before shipment
- Coordinate with the warehouse team on pick/pack/load schedules and confirm carrier pickups
- Generate and manage shipping documentation (BOLs, packing slips, ASNs, routing instructions, retail compliance paperwork)
Cross-Team Coordination & Administration
- Act as the seamless communication bridge between on-site warehouse staff and remote team members across Operations, Logistics, and Sales
- Maintain meticulous records, logs, and reports on shipments, inventory movements, and carrier performance
- Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks before they affect operations; keep all stakeholders informed in real time
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, or a closely related role
- Direct experience scheduling carriers and coordinating inbound/outbound shipments
- Familiarity with container drayage, port logistics, and import documentation (demurrage, per diem, BOLs, customs paperwork)
- Hands-on experience with an ERP, WMS, or inventory management system
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy — you double-check everything
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate seamlessly across on-site and remote teams
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office/cloud software (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities without dropping a ball
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in food, beverage, CPG, or consumer products warehousing
- Knowledge of retail compliance/routing requirements (e.g., Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, Aldi)
- Familiarity with the Port of Savannah and/or Port of Charleston and regional drayage providers
- Experience with FDA-regulated or food-grade product handling
What Success Looks Like
- Zero missed carrier appointments and minimal driver wait times
- No demurrage or detention charges from preventable scheduling gaps
- 100% accuracy on inbound receiving and outbound order verification
- On-site and remote teams always aligned, informed, and never caught off guard
