SUMMARY
The successful candidate for this position will have a positive, professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills and will be able to work independently. The nature of the work will require that the candidate demonstrate initiative and responsibility and be flexible/adaptive to a fast-paced and fluid plant environment. The primary responsibility of this position is to batch concrete to meet production demands; ensure quality control and environmental compliance; and assist on the plant yard when needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•* Maintains the highest standard of quality and safety in all areas of production from manufacturing to shipment*
•* Performs the concrete batching operation*
•* Assists the plant manager in maintaining proper stock inventories (raw materials, machinery/vehicle parts, etc.)*
•* Assists in performing required plant environmental inspections and documenting properly*
•* Performs air checks and moisture checks*
•* Assists in maintaining a clean working area*
•* Must be able to open, close, and work Saturdays alone*
•* Must be able to run front end loader and pump tankers, when needed*
•* Required to work a schedule that varies from week to week; long hours during peak season; and weekends*
•* May be required to work at more than one location*
QUALIFICATIONS
•* Two years related experience and/or training*
•* A working knowledge of the programming functions of all current plant systems*
•* An understanding of all aspects of concrete production and the types of products produced*
•* An understanding of QC/QA for the ready mix concrete industry*
•* Must possess a DOT batch card or the ability to obtain one*
•* Knowledge of production equipment, production processes and maintenance programs*
•* A commitment to team concepts, a sense of ownership and urgency*
•* Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal professionally with all managers, employees, vendors and customers*
•* Excellent problem-solving skills*
•* Working computer skills*
