Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Plan and follow optimized delivery routes using mobile devices to ensure timely deliveries across assigned areas.
- Deliver packages directly to customers’ homes or businesses with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Handle heavy lifting safely, employing proper manual handling practices to prevent injury during loading, unloading, and delivery processes.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including proof of delivery and route documentation, utilizing mobile technology.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members to report issues or delays promptly.
Requirements
- Prior experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, or courier services is highly preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or box trucks is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and adherence to DOT regulations for weight handling in the workplace.
- Experience with route driving, customer service skills, and familiarity with mobile devices for navigation and communication.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including moving boxes, manual handling of packages, and sustained manual labor during shifts.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols including adherence to traffic laws and workplace safety standards.
