This is a temporary position. Canvassers will work under Blandy's immediate supervision. Those with prior experience or a desire to learn are invited to apply!
Canvassing will take place for 3 weeks on Wed, Thur, Fri. from 3:30pm-8:00pm
With additional dates for interpreters with Mono-lingual English Speakers Dates
Canvassing: July 7, 8, 9, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24
Additional Dates: August 5,6,7, 12, 13, 14
Final Debrief: TBD
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Attend mandatory trainings, preparation meetings, and informational sessions.
* Follow the civic engagement program script to engage community members.
* Meet the required number of contacts per week.
* Door-knocking for several hours a day, walking required (canvassing will be conducted 3 days a week [Wed-Fri between 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.)
* Speak and create bridges with community members.
* Commit to providing detailed daily reports.
* Track and enter canvassing data using the PDI app.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Have access to a smartphone for the duration of the assignment.
* Drive a vehicle
* Work well independently and as part of a team toward a common goal.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Be goal-oriented, punctual, organized, and have a positive attitude.
* Believe in OCCCO's mission and vision.
Pay is $22.00 per hour, and canvassers will work a minimum of 12 hours per week.
