Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Serenity Dental is looking for an experienced, dependable, and team-oriented Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our growing practice!

What You’ll Do
- Assist the dentist during restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, and other dental procedures
- Perform expanded functions within your scope of practice
- Take and process dental X-rays as needed
- Prepare operatories and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
- Assist with restorative procedures, including crown and bridge procedures
- Take impressions, scans, and other diagnostic records as needed
- Place and remove temporary restorations as permitted
- Provide excellent patient care and help patients feel comfortable throughout their visits
- Review post-operative instructions with patients
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow office protocols
- Sterilize instruments and maintain OSHA/infection-control standards
- Communicate effectively with the dentist and the rest of the dental team
- Help keep the clinical schedule running efficiently
- Be willing to jump in and assist wherever needed
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- EFDA certification/credentials appropriate for the state of Tennessee
- Dental assisting experience
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Excellent patient communication skills
- Dependability and strong attendance
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy dental practice
- Professional attitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team
