Satterley & Kelley, PLLC is a boutique plaintiff's litigation firm representing individuals and families in catastrophic injury and asbestos litigation. Our cases are meaningful, challenging, and often life-changing for our clients. We are looking for a dynamic, motivated associate attorney who is ready for a real challenge and excited about the opportunity to grow into an exceptional trial lawyer.
This position offers significant responsibility, direct client contact, courtroom experience, depositions, and the opportunity to work on complex, high-stakes litigation from day one.
Who We Are Looking For
Experience is a plus, but what matters most to us is character, initiative, and drive. We're looking for a big-picture thinker who also brings real energy to the detailed, hands-on work that wins cases.
People Skills & Drive
- Is comfortable speaking with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel, and knows how to build rapport while asking the difficult follow-up questions.
- Is organized, dependable, and communicates proactively.
- Is motivated to continually improve, accept responsibility, and grow into an outstanding litigator.
- Genuinely cares about achieving the best possible result for every client.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing and advancing litigation files.
- Meeting with clients and witnesses.
- Investigating claims and developing evidence.
- Taking and defending depositions.
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Appearing in court at hearings.
- Working closely with partners to develop litigation strategy.
- Preparing cases for trial and participating in trial.
What You Can Expect
From the start, you'll be doing the real work of trial preparation — investigating facts, tracking down and interviewing witnesses, and drafting the motions and discovery that shape a case. That work is what builds the skill and the trust that lead to depositions, hearings, and time in court. We see preparation and the courtroom as one continuous path, and we're looking for someone excited to walk the whole thing with us.
If you demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and sound judgment, you will be entrusted with real responsibility and given opportunities to work on significant cases.
Our goal is to help you become an exceptional advocate while providing a career path with increasing responsibility, professional growth, and financial opportunity.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice law (or eligible for admission) in Kentucky.
- One to five years of litigation experience.
- Excellent writing, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to deadlines and case detail.
- A demonstrated work ethic, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, benefits, and the chance to build a long-term career in a collaborative, team-oriented litigation practice.
If you are looking for a position where initiative is valued, responsibility is earned, and your work can make a meaningful difference in people's lives, we would welcome the opportunity to hear from you.
