Job Summary:
The Shop Foreman at Bomnin Automotive plays a vital role in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the service department. This position is responsible for supervising technicians, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining high-quality standards in vehicle repairs and service. The Shop Foreman is a key member of the service leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision:
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of automotive technicians and service advisors.
- Assign work orders and responsibilities to technicians based on their skills and expertise.
- Monitor technician productivity and efficiency, making adjustments as needed to meet service goals.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all vehicle repairs and maintenance services meet or exceed dealership and manufacturer quality standards.
- Perform quality checks on completed work to verify accuracy and thoroughness.
- Address any issues or concerns related to the quality of repairs promptly.
Technical Support:
- Assist technicians in diagnosing complex vehicle issues and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technical service bulletins, and manufacturer recalls.
Workflow Management:
- Prioritize repair orders based on urgency and customer needs.
- Coordinate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and timeframes.
- Monitor the progress of repair orders to ensure timely completion.
- Address any delays or issues that may affect service efficiency.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Interact with customers as needed to address questions or concerns related to vehicle service.
- Strive to provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed in the service department.
- Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Promote a safe and clean working environment.
Inventory Management:
- Oversee the availability of necessary parts and equipment for vehicle repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of parts usage and reorder supplies as needed.
Training and Development:
- Identify training needs for technicians and coordinate training programs.
- Support the development of technical skills and knowledge among team members.
