Overview: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Road Tech Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and equipment used in road construction and maintenance. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on road construction equipment, including trucks, graders, pavers, and compactors.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Collaborate with the operations team to schedule repairs and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all maintenance practices.
- Assist in the training of junior mechanics and provide guidance as needed.
- Keep the work area organized and ensure tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in automotive or diesel mechanics preferred.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, especially with road construction or heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic skills and familiarity with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding environments.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
