Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor with credentials LLMSW, CAADC or CADC to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services, including psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and addiction counseling, to diverse populations across outpatient settings. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine client needs.
- Provide individual counseling sessions employing evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
- Implement crisis management strategies to de-escalate urgent situations effectively and ensure client safety.
- Deliver specialized addiction counseling and substance use disorder treatment plans aligned with best practices in behavioral health.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans, coordinate case management efforts, and monitor patient progress through detailed medical documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health services, ensuring seamless patient engagement across virtual settings.
- Maintain accurate medical records, conduct intake assessments, and document treatment outcomes using ICD coding standards.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives related to mental health treatment modalities, contributing data collection efforts for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Valid CAADC and CADC certifications with active licensure or registration in good standing.
- Proven experience in mental health counseling within outpatient environments
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques including motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology principles, grief counseling, PTSD care.
- Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation.
- Experience delivering services via telehealth platforms with a focus on patient care continuity.
- Exceptional skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, behavior management, and social work practices.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient assessment and direct support.
