About the Role
Empower Behavioral Health is seeking a full‑time Special Education Teacher with an Adapted Curriculum (K–12) license and intensive behavior support experience to serve Lincoln County Schools for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an in‑person role supporting students with significant cognitive disabilities, autism, and high‑needs behavioral profiles in a structured Adapted Curriculum classroom.
The district is interviewing over the next week, and we are gathering candidates now.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily instruction aligned to the NC Extended Content Standards
- Implement individualized instruction for students with significant cognitive and behavioral needs
- Deliver services through small‑group instruction, structured routines, and individualized interventions
- Implement behavior support plans, crisis‑prevention strategies, and de‑escalation techniques
- Collaborate with EC teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress monitoring, and IEP compliance
- Support communication, functional academics, life skills, and social‑emotional development
- Create a safe, structured, positive classroom environment with consistent behavioral expectations

Requirements
- Active or eligible North Carolina DPI teaching license with:
- Adapted Curriculum (K–12) endorsement (required)
- Experience working with students with intensive behavioral needs, autism, or significant cognitive disabilities
- Training or experience in behavior intervention, CPI, PBIS, or similar frameworks preferred
- Ability to work full‑time, onsite for the 2026–2027 school year
- Prior school‑based experience preferred
