Job OverviewThis position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the store and ensuring that all customers have a great experience in our shop. Candidates must be 16+ years old.
Stone Soup is a local children’s and maternity consignment store that offers high quality consignment and new products at good prices. We strive to create a warm and inviting atmosphere while giving gently used items a new life. We genuinely build relationships and have meaningful conversations with the people that walk in the door.

Duties
- Provide caring service to our customers & consignors.
- Handle transactions accurately using the register and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Receive consignment drop offs.
- Tag and prep products to look their best for the sales floor.
- Keep the shop in tip top shape by cleaning, merchandising, preparing items for the floor and maintaining displays.
Within your first 6 months of employment:
- You will be able to effectively engage with customers and consignors to help them get what they need.
- You will have a strong understanding of how the consignment process works.
- You will be proficient in maintaining the store presentation
Skills and Experience required:
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Able to maintain good interpersonal work relationships
- Dependable, responsible and on time.
- Able to move between tasks and remain focused to completion
- Good basic math skills for processing transactions.
Skills and Experience appreciated:
- Retail experience is preferred but not required.
- High level social media skills are a huge plus!

Physical Demand and Work Environment:
This position requires being on your feet for up to 8 hours. Lifting up to 30 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
