ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Welder, you will fabricate and install welded piping for HVAC and mechanical infrastructure replacement projects in occupied high-rise and multifamily buildings. Your primary focus is producing sound, code-compliant welds and mechanical piping installations while keeping the job site safe, clean, and respectful of residents. This is a full-time hourly position, based at the job site, reporting to the Project Manager, and working closely with the rest of the onsite team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Weld carbon steel and black iron pipe using SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions

Braze and solder copper piping for domestic water and hydronic applications

Cut, thread, groove, fit, and align pipe from isometric drawings, riser diagrams, and mechanical specifications

Install and replace HVAC and mechanical piping including chilled water, hot water, condenser water, and condensate lines

Set and connect fan coil units, air handlers, pumps, valves, hangers, and supports

Assist with plumbing scope as needed, including domestic water and DWV piping in copper, PEX, CPVC, and press-fit systems

Pressure test, flush, and inspect completed systems for leaks and code compliance

Follow hot work permit procedures, maintain fire watch, and protect finishes and resident property in occupied units

Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient worksite and follow all company safety procedures and quality standards

Communicate clearly with project managers, crew leads, team members, and residents

Maintain, foster, and develop productive relationships including with co-workers, other departments, clients, subcontractors, and vendors

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

5+ years of pipe welding experience in commercial, mechanical, or plumbing construction

Current welding certification, or ability to pass a company weld test in the required processes and positions

Working knowledge of HVAC and hydronic piping systems, including pumps, valves, coils, and terminal units
-
Working knowledge of domestic water and DWV plumbing systems and applicable plumbing code (UPC/IPC); journeyman HVAC license preferred but not required
-
Proven ability to read and interpret mechanical and plumbing layouts, isometrics, and specifications

EPA Section 608 certification a plus

OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus
-
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Strong work ethic, team-first attitude, and focus on safety
-
Must provide basic hand tools and be able to pass a background check and pre-employment screening

Spanish/English bilingual a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to lift and carry 50–100 lbs. regularly, work on your feet throughout the day, and work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, ceilings, and at heights.
Salary Range: $45 - 60 per hour based upon experience and qualifications plus eligibility for a generous weekly piece-rate bonus
