Role Overview
As a Software Developer, you will act as a trusted technical consultant and developer for our diverse client base. Using a versatile programming stack, you will build integrations, automate complex engineering workflows, and develop custom Vault Data Standard (VDS) environments to help our clients maximize their CAD and PLM investments. In addition, you will be providing programming deliverables for complex data migrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Vault Customization: Design and deploy tailored user interfaces, validation rules, and dynamic behaviors within Autodesk Vault Data Standard (VDS) based on unique client business rules.
- Enterprise Integration: Develop robust APIs and middleware to connect clients' Autodesk Vault environments with third-party ERP, PLM, and CRM systems.
- Advanced Automation Development: Write custom Job Processor extensions, event handlers, and standalone utilities to eliminate repetitive manual tasks for client engineering teams.
- Data Migration: Work with technical teams to develop tools to conduct successful customer data migrations to Autodesk Vault.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
Core Programming Languages
- C# / VB.NET: Expert capability using the Autodesk Vault SDK to build reusable add-ins, advanced Job Processor plugins, and custom web service integrations.
- PowerShell: Strong scripting skills to automate batch file processing, administrative tasks, and data migration routines across varied client environments.
- XAML: Proficient in customizing the Vault Data Standard (VDS) UI, configuring data-entry forms, and implementing client-side logic.
- JavaScript / HTML5: Ability to program efficiently in JavaScript.
- Autolisp: The ability to create and edit Autolisp scripts to automate tasks in
Platforms & Ecosystems
- Deep mastery of Autodesk Vault Professional architecture (API, Web Services, Job Processor).
- Understanding of Autodesk design tools (Inventor, AutoCAD, Plant 3D) and how they interact with data management systems.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, data mapping, and relational database concepts.
- Familiarity with software development best practices, including Git and Agile project delivery.
Professional Experience & Soft Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in programming, system integration, or technical consulting within the Autodesk ecosystem.
- Consultative Mindset: Exceptional ability to translate ambiguous client business needs into clear, structured functional requirements and technical specifications.
- Adaptability: Comfortable context-switching between different client projects, environments, and industry verticals (e.g., manufacturing, AEC, infrastructure).
- Communication: Excellent presentation and documentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical architectures to both executive stakeholders and CAD end-users.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
