Acute Care Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant)
Position Summary
The Acute Care Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) delivers high-quality, urgent-care-style services within a multidisciplinary outpatient clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays, working alongside our musculoskeletal health provider. This provider evaluates and manages acute, episodic medical conditions and coordinates with patients' existing primary care providers for ongoing or longitudinal needs — with a strong emphasis on access, efficiency, and a high-touch patient experience.
This is an ideal role for a clinician who is adaptable, service-oriented, and comfortable practicing in a team-based, urgent-care-style model on a high-touch, low-volume schedule.
Reporting Structure
Reports clinically to the Associate Head of Medical Services and operationally to clinic operations leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care Delivery
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute, episodic medical conditions (e.g., minor illness and injury, infections, urgent symptoms)
- Conduct preventive care visits and health screenings
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics
- Prescribe medications in accordance with Florida State regulations
- Refer patients to their primary care provider or other specialists for ongoing chronic disease management and conditions outside acute care scope
Patient Experience
- Deliver a personalized, high-touch care experience with strong attention to communication and service
- Ensure timely access to care, including same-day or next-day visits when appropriate
- Provide clear patient education, guidance, and follow-up to support outcomes
Care Coordination & Referrals
- Collaborate closely with onsite musculoskeletal health provider
- Facilitate referrals to external specialists, primary care providers, and diagnostic services as needed
- Coordinate follow-up care, including tracking results and supporting appropriate handoff to ongoing care
Clinical Operations & Documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record
- Adhere to established clinical protocols, workflows, and compliance standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical program development
- Support clinic operations, including coverage and workflow optimization
Team Collaboration
- Partner with the multidisciplinary clinical team to ensure consistency and quality of care delivery
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Contribute to a professional, team-oriented clinical culture
Qualifications
Required
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in Florida State
- Board certification required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in acute, urgent, or emergency care
- Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage a broad range of episodic conditions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a multidisciplinary team-based setting
- Comfortable working in a high-service, access-focused care model
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Compensation
Pay commensurate with degree and experience. (Range TBD)
