Purpose: (General description and summary)
The Mental Health Clinician (MHC) is a key member of the multidisciplinary team supporting youth in the Rosebud program, a supportive housing initiative for participants ages 16 to 18 who are in the foster care system. This program offers a combination of clinical services (through Medicaid) and wraparound supports (funded by DHS).
The MHC is responsible for conducting mental health assessments, providing diagnoses, and developing individualized treatment plans that outline medically necessary services to support treatment and recovery. This role includes delivering a range of services such as skills training, case management, and counseling, primarily in home and community-based settings.
In addition to clinical work, the position requires a strong focus on administrative duties, including timely documentation, service authorizations, and compliance with ongoing reporting requirements.
Case Planning and Management
E.g. motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, wellness management and recovery, integrated dual diagnosis treatment, etc
Collaboration with internal Rosebud team including Program Manager, QMHA, Peer Manager, and Peer Support Specialist.

Education/Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
Qualified Mental Health Professional with a Masters Degree in social work or related field is required. A minimum of two years post-graduate experience is preferred, experience with working with minors and/or in the foster care system preferred. Experience/training with trauma treatment and trauma informed care preferred. CADC Credentials are preferred.
Experience/Qualifications:
Bilingual Spanish/English service provision capability preferred. Applicants must possess the skills necessary to work independently. Must have a firm understanding of unique developmental needs of young adults 16-18, individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, psychiatric medications and their use, administrative rules regarding work with minors and other applicable laws and regulations, as well as a firm understanding of acceptable clinical practices and guidelines. Complete understanding of the DSM V and the ability to compose comprehensive mental health assessments and initial service plans.
Extensive mental activities are required. Examples to include but not limited to the use of educated judgment, communicating thought clearly, maintain calm demeanor in crisis situations, be an empathetic and effective listener, and flexible analytical and interpreting skills. Ability to motivate others and remain consistently enthusiastic. Creativity and flexibility in problem solving. Consistent collaboration with other staff and outside partners. Strong organizational skills.
