We are in search of a Certified Medical Assistant, Full-time , to join our staff at Lake Russell Specialty Office in Elberton, GA.
This person will ensure that our patients and care areas are prepared for examinations and office procedures, assists physicians with all aspects of direct patient care, performs procedures and other tasks involved in patient care, triage patient needs that come and/or call into the office. Performs any other duties as required or assigned.
Responsibilities of the position include:
· Greets patients in a professional and friendly manner.
· Performs initial assessment (vital signs/chief complaint/update of medication list, etc.) and records the information.
· Prepares patient for complete examination with appropriate dress and ensures all necessary supplies are available.
· Promotes patient’s physical and psychological comfort.
· Recognizes and reports to provider any variation of symptoms or changes in patient’s condition.
· Assists physician with patient care as needed (office procedures/surgeries/diagnostic testing/chaperones/specimen collection/injections/wound care/treatments/post-operative rehabilitation/medication management, etc.).
· Assists within scope of competence, following all guidelines and procedures.
· Has knowledge and skill in the use of emergency equipment and resuscitative measures.
· Documents all actions taken and enters into patient’s electronic chart for provider to review and sign off.
· Arranges/schedules referrals, procedures, tests, or surgery as needed. Tracks and maintains referral logs as needed and tracks test results.
· Maintains strictest patient confidentiality at all times.
· Complies with PPE guidelines.
· Ability to prioritize/reorganize tasks to ensure the highest level of patient care and customer satisfaction.
· Demonstrates the ability to adapt to difficult and changing situations with a positive attitude.
· Uses time efficiently.
· Works effectively as a team member with all staff. Cross-trains and/or picks up other duties when needed.
· Attends required meetings and completes continuing education program.
· Performs any other duties as required or assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least two (2) years’ experience in clinical setting preferred
- Insurance and pre-cert experience and knowledge, a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required
- CMA certification by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- BLS certification
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and other healthcare personnel
- Attention to detail
