We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and chop vegetables, meats, and other ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling practices.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely preparation of meals for catering events or daily service.
- Support the Dietary department by preparing specialized meals according to dietary restrictions when necessary.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within the food service industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food handling, and safety practices is essential.
- Familiarity with catering operations is a plus.
- Strong knife skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are required.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn more about menu planning and dietary needs will be highly valued.
