Purple Ruler is seeking experienced Online ESL Teachers to deliver engaging, high quality English lessons to students across China. We are looking for passionate educators who enjoy helping young learners develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking through structured, interactive lessons. Our students typically remain with the same teacher for at least 15 weeks, allowing you to build meaningful relationships and make a genuine impact on their educational journey. Our ideal candidates possess a minimum of two years of online teaching experience and are well-acquainted with resources like Reading Explorer/Great Writing or equivalent Reading/Writing materials.
Job Type: Flexible, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Location: Based in the USA/UK (remote)
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in any field
- Possess a TEFL/CELTA/TESOL or ESL certificate
Requirements:
- Passion for working with students aged 5-18
- Proficient in English
- Demonstrate at least 2 years of ESL teaching experience, particularly with Chinese students (preferred)
- Familiarity with Reading Explorer/Great Writing or equivalent Reading/Writing materials
- Familiarity with materials such as Unlock and Think
- Familiarity with Cambridge Exams and Tests such as B1, B2, C1 and C2
Skills:
- Effective communication and strong interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in establishing rapport with students
- Patience and empathy in guiding students' learning journey
- Adaptability to diverse learning styles

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 to 15:00 BST or 9:00 to 14:00 GMT.
- Weekends: 08:00 to 14:00
