We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Light Commercial HVAC/R Service Technician to join our team! Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on HVAC units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), boilers, and related mechanical equipment.
- Install new HVAC/R systems according to design specifications and industry standards, ensuring proper operation and compliance with safety codes.
- Conduct routine inspections of property maintenance systems including plumbing, air conditioning units, and appliances to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Utilize HVAC design principles to recommend upgrades or modifications that improve system efficiency and performance.
- Operate welding equipment and perform basic mechanical repairs such as replacing belts, filters, motors, or valves.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete work orders accurately, and communicate effectively with clients about system status and recommended solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related fields with a strong understanding of commercial systems.
- Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and maintenance projects.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Mechanical knowledge including plumbing, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation, and appliance repair.
- Ability to read blueprints and HVAC design plans confidently.
- Experience with field service operations requiring troubleshooting on-site in various environments.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and familiarity with equipment repair techniques including welding.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required.
