JOB SUMMARY
Performs a wide range of Safety and Security duties providing a safe and secure environment. Provides Shuttle/Courier service for all HHCS properties. When appropriate contacts proper authorities for violations of criminal laws of HHCS properties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Licensure : Ability to obtain the Certification by International Association of Hospital Safety and Security (IAHSS) Preferred. Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire date. Must obtain a concealed weapons carry permit within 90 days from hire date. Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license. Experience: At least six months in Public Safety or Law Enforcement related fields is preferred.
Skills: Requires moderate proficiency in the operation and use of calculators, intermediate computer use and knowledge, radio, camera, and fingerprint equipment. Requires 80% pass/fail rate in proficiency testing in the use of firearms, police ASP baton, and other defensive weapons. Requires experience working with all types of people with special circumstances.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The duties are performed both inside and outside in good and inclement weather. These duties also expose the Officers to contagious and infectious diseases. The noise levels from quiet to very noisy. This position requires sitting, standing, and a considerable amount of driving for long periods of time. This position also requires a skill for dealing with people in a businesslike manner. Personal hygiene and a neat appearance are a must.
