The Assistant Athletic Director, Head Football Athletic Trainer, in collaboration with the Assistant Athletic Director, Director of Sports Medicine, senior leadership and the team physician, assists in the development and implementation of an Athletic training program for the prevention and research of injuries to student-athletes in the Football Program, as well as student-athletes in other sports programs, as assigned. Additional responsibilities of the position include, research, administering first-aid and emergency medical care; diagnosing/treating injuries and providing rehabilitation according to authorized medical directions, overseeing, supervising and evaluating athletic training staff and graduate assistants; overseeing the maintenance of complete, accurate, and detailed medical records for all student athletes; preparing and monitoring all medical supplies and equipment budgets; assisting in or directing sports camps as requested or required, and performing other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited professional Athletic Training Education Program
- 5 years of experience as a certified Athletic Trainer
- Louisiana-LSBME licensure within 90 days of hire
- Current CPR/First Aid/Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Certification
Preferred Qualification:
- Previous Athletic Training Experience in Division I Intercollegiate Athletics
- Have a valid and unrestricted (not including corrective lens needs) U.S. Driver’s license and must meet the Tulane University Motor Vehicle Policy criteria to become authorized as a driver.
