Excel Learning Academy is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and team-oriented Assistant Instructor to help implement engaging activities, promote student growth, and support classroom operations alongside our lead teachers and clinical team.
Position Overview
We are looking for an Assistant Instructor to help deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support to students with special needs. This role involves assisting with lessons, promoting positive behaviors, and helping meet each child’s academic, emotional, and physical needs in a nurturing, structured environment.
Hours: Monday-Friday , 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Location: Valrico, FL (33594)
Starting Rate: $15/hour (with scheduled raises based on performance and training milestones)

Your Role and Responsibilities
Instructional Support
- Assist with academic activities, including one-on-one and small-group instruction
- Help implement individualized learning and behavior goals designed by lead teachers and supervisors
- Follow lesson plans and adjust support based on student needs
Behavior and Safety Support
- Promote a positive, structured learning environment
- Support students during behavioral challenges using de-escalation strategies and safety protocols
- Assist in maintaining classroom safety and supervision at all times
Caregiving and Classroom Maintenance
- Support students with daily needs such as snack and lunch assistance, hygiene, and diapering
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom space
- Reinforce daily routines, transitions, and classroom expectations
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with lead instructors and clinical staff
- Share updates and observations to help shape individualized plans
- Participate in ongoing training and team meetings
