As Director of Rehabilitation, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the therapy department while providing clinical leadership to the rehabilitation team. The DOR will be responsible for promoting high-quality patient care, supporting strong clinical outcomes, managing staff performance and productivity, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory and documentation requirements.
Oversee the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, including PT, OT, and Speech Therapy services
Provide leadership, clinical guidance, and support to rehabilitation staff
Coordinate staffing and scheduling to meet patient and facility needs
Monitor departmental productivity, utilization, treatment minutes, and overall operational performance
Collaborate with Nursing, Administration, and the interdisciplinary team to identify residents who may benefit from skilled rehabilitation services
Support development and implementation of individualized plans of care
Monitor clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance
Ensure rehabilitation services are provided in accordance with Medicare, state, federal, and professional practice requirements
Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, utilization review, quality improvement, and performance improvement initiatives
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of rehabilitation staff
Promote strong communication and collaboration between rehabilitation, nursing, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
Maintain a patient-centered approach focused on functional outcomes, safety, and successful transitions of care
Must be a currently licensed Registered Physical Therapist (RPT/PT) or Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the State of California
Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy program
Previous experience in a skilled nursing, post-acute, or rehabilitation setting preferred
Previous rehabilitation leadership or management experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of rehabilitation operations, clinical documentation, and Medicare requirements
Proven leadership, organizational, and team-building skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively collaborate with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams
