Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with autism, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration and transportation.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and conflict resolution
- Collaborate with nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure proper medical care and adherence to treatment plans
- Create a nurturing and supportive environment for individuals in need of care or assistance
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, and any incidents that occur
Skills:
- Direct support experience, particularly with individuals on the autism spectrum
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to assist with medication administration
- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
- Proficiency in meal preparation and understanding dietary restrictions or special needs
- Ability to provide compassionate care and support to individuals in their home settings
