Responsibilities.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operation and prevent breakdowns.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) units.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, motors, thermostats, wiring, and mechanical parts.
- Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams, and building automation system (BAS) controls to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems including pipe fitting and leak repairs when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs or system functions clearly to clients and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed service records of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, and specialized diagnostic tools to perform repairs effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC technician or service technician with a solid understanding of mechanical systems repair and installation.
- Construction experience is highly desirable for complex system installations.
- Knowledge of schematics, electrical diagnostics, HVAC design principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to boilers, pumps, ductwork, air conditioning units, appliances repair, plumbing components, welding techniques, and property maintenance tasks.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC system repair and maintenance in both commercial and residential settings.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver certification preferred.
- EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or electrical systems are a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Mechanical or mechanic experience is advantageous for comprehensive equipment troubleshooting.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
