About Us
Craft Music is a boutique music teaching studio serving families throughout Los Angeles, including Beverly Hills, ZIP code 90210, South Los Angeles, ZIP code 90043, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Our goal is to build strong musical foundations, encourage creativity, and create meaningful connections through music. We specialize in personalized, one-to-one instruction and work with students of all ages and experience levels.
Offerings
We provide personalized voice and guitar lessons for both children and adults, tailored to each student’s musical interests, goals, experience, and learning style.
Lessons are primarily offered in students’ homes, with additional opportunities for in-studio and online teaching depending on the instructor and student.
Our instructors are professional musicians and experienced educators who combine strong technical training with an encouraging, creative, and individualized approach.
We value teachers who can help students:
- Build healthy vocal or instrumental technique
- Develop musicianship, rhythm, ear training, and music theory
- Explore repertoire that genuinely interests them
- Build confidence and independence as musicians
- Prepare for performances, auditions, songwriting, recording, or personal musical goals
Craft Music also hosts recitals and community events that give students opportunities to perform and connect with other musicians.
Position
We are currently hiring Voice and Guitar Instructors for in-home lessons throughout Los Angeles.
We have particular needs in and around:
- Beverly Hills / 90210
- South Los Angeles / 90043
- Nearby Westside, Mid-City, Northeast LA, and surrounding neighborhoods
We are looking for thoughtful, dependable teachers who enjoy working one-on-one with students and can create lessons that balance musical rigor with creativity and enjoyment.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging private voice and/or guitar lessons to children, teenagers, and adults
- Travel to students’ homes throughout your agreed teaching area
- Create individualized lesson plans based on each student’s goals and ability level
- Develop technique, musicianship, repertoire, theory, and ear training
- Encourage creativity through songwriting, improvisation, performance, and other musical interests when appropriate
- Communicate professionally and reliably with students, families, and Craft Music
- Help students develop a lasting and positive relationship with music
Teachers who can teach additional instruments, songwriting, piano, or music production are especially welcome.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, Performance, or a closely related field preferred
- Strong professional proficiency in voice and/or guitar
- Experience teaching children and adults
- Strong understanding of technique, musicianship, and music theory
- Ability to adapt lessons to different personalities, learning styles, and musical interests
- Professional, dependable, warm, and communicative
Transportation & Teaching Requirements
Because this position includes in-home teaching, instructors should have:
- A reliable car or dependable transportation throughout Los Angeles
- Ability to travel to students within an agreed geographic teaching area
- Reliable phone and email communication
- Appropriate equipment for any online lessons they choose to offer
- A professional teaching space if offering in-studio lessons
