Greater Portland Pet Sitting is seeking dependable, compassionate individuals to join our team as part-time cat sitters. This is a flexible opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently while providing quality care for cats in clients’ homes. The position starts at approximately 5 hours per week, with opportunities for additional assignments based on your availability and our clients’ needs.
Preference will be given to applicants located within our service area due to travel requirements.
Service Area: Portland, South Portland, Westbrook, Gorham, Scarborough, and Falmouth.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to clients’ homes to provide 20–30 minute cat care visits, typically scheduled between 7–11 AM and 4–7 PM
- Feed cats and refresh water
- Clean up after cats, including scooping litter boxes
- Provide daily updates to clients via smartphone
- Administer medications, if needed
- Water plants, collect mail, and handle trash and recycling bins as needed
Job Requirements:
- A genuine love for cats
- Commitment to working with us for at least six months
- Availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Reliable smartphone for scheduling and communicating with clients through an app
- Reliable, fully insured vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to pass a background check
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to provide professional references
