About the Role
We are looking for an experienced HVAC technician who can combine strong technical diagnostics with professional customer communication.
The right person must be able to inspect and diagnose HVAC systems properly, identify the root cause of problems, document findings, communicate with the office, and help homeowners understand their repair, replacement, or upgrade options.
This is not a “show up and quote” role. Every service call must be handled through a complete diagnostic process. You will be expected to evaluate the full system, not just the obvious issue, and follow our company process on every lead.
Responsibilities
- Perform complete residential HVAC diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Diagnose heating, cooling, airflow, electrical, refrigerant, thermostat, ductwork, and system performance issues.
- Identify root causes, failed components, safety concerns, and system deficiencies.
- Follow the company service call process on every lead.
- Document findings with accurate notes, photos, readings, and recommendations.
- Communicate with the office team during the service process.
- Call the office as required before presenting final recommendations.
- Present repair, replacement, maintenance, and upgrade options professionally.
- Educate homeowners clearly without pressure or confusion.
- Generate sales opportunities through proper diagnostics and honest recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle.
- Properly maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and inventory.
- Deliver a professional customer experience on every call.
Required HVAC Experience
To be considered, you must have:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on HVAC field experience.
- Residential HVAC service experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC systems without constant supervision.
- Experience with furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, thermostats, airflow issues, refrigerant-related issues, electrical components, and system performance problems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC service procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to explain HVAC problems and options clearly to homeowners.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Applications without HVAC field experience will not be considered.
Sales & Customer Communication
This role requires both technical skill and strong communication.
You must be comfortable explaining findings to homeowners, building trust, and presenting options based on the actual condition of the system. We are not looking for high-pressure salespeople. We are looking for an HVAC professional who can diagnose properly, communicate clearly, and create value through honest recommendations.
Company Standards
Every technician is expected to:
- Follow the company service call process on every lead.
- Perform a complete diagnostic before making recommendations.
- Communicate with the office team throughout the service process.
- Document all findings clearly and accurately.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and organized.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory properly.
- Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Be reliable, accountable, and willing to work extended hours during peak seasons when needed.
Who Succeeds in This Role?
The ideal candidate is a disciplined HVAC professional who knows how to diagnose systems properly, communicate with homeowners, follow a proven process, and create sales opportunities through honest, professional recommendations.
You will succeed here if you:
- Have real HVAC service experience.
- Take pride in diagnosing problems correctly.
- Like helping customers understand their options.
- Can follow a structured process.
- Communicate well with the office and customers.
- Want a long-term opportunity with growth and performance-based earning potential.
Please Do Not Apply If
- You do not have HVAC field experience.
- You are only looking for a general sales job.
- You have never diagnosed residential HVAC systems.
- You are not comfortable working in customers’ homes.
- You do not want to follow a structured service process.
- You are not comfortable documenting findings and communicating with the office.
