SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare client in the Fort Walton Beach–Destin, Florida area in its search for a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN). The Med-Surg RN will provide comprehensive nursing care by assessing patient conditions, administering medications and treatments, educating patients and families, and coordinating care throughout the hospitalization. This position plays a critical role in ensuring positive clinical outcomes while advocating for patients and promoting a safe, compassionate, and collaborative care environment.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with physician orders, evidence-based practice, and established nursing standards
- Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, recognizing and reporting changes in patient status promptly
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions while monitoring patient responses and documenting care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge instructions, and follow-up care
- Respond promptly to patient needs while promoting exceptional patient satisfaction and service excellence
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory standards
- Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives that support positive clinical outcomes and operational excellence
- Support unit operations by collaborating with fellow nurses and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient throughput and continuity of care
Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- License(s) or Certification(s)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date
- Job Experience and/or Industry Experience
Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse experience required (acute care experience not required)
Previous Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care, Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing, Home Health, or other direct patient care experience accepted
Acute care hospital experience preferred but not required
Experience utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) and Microsoft Office applications preferred
Strong clinical assessment, communication, critical thinking, and patient education skills
Ability to prioritize patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
