Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, mental status examinations, and behavioral observations to inform individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments such as psychotropic medications, injections, and IV infusions following strict protocols and safety standards.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment strategies aligned with patients’ needs.
- Monitor patient progress, document clinical observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems), and update care plans accordingly.
- Provide patient education on medication management, coping strategies, and community resources to support ongoing recovery.
- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and emergency response procedures in acute behavioral health situations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of all patient information while adhering to NCQA standards for quality care.
Skills
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia care, or mental health conditions in settings such as inpatient psychiatric units or outpatient clinics.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health protocols, including trauma-informed care and acute pain management strategies.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and case management.
- Ability to perform physical assessments, administer injections, perform venipuncture, and manage aseptic techniques effectively.
- Skilled in patient assessment, triage procedures, crisis intervention, and emergency response within Level I or Level II trauma center environments.
- Experience with medication administration including psychotropic drugs and understanding of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) for accurate documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients about their treatment plans. Pay: $30.00 - $41.00 per hour
