Star Choices Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides person centered, community based supports to people with disabilities. We are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lead Worker/Supervisor in the Hall County, Flowery Branch, GA area.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :
The Team Leader is responsible for leading Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and ensuring that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities receive safe, high-quality, person-centered support. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines staff supervision, scheduling, compliance, problem-solving, and direct support.
Team Leaders work closely with individuals, families, DSPs, Host Home providers, and the Program Coordinator to ensure services are consistent, meaningful, and aligned with each individual's needs and goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Supervise, coach, develop, and hold Direct Support Professionals accountable for the quality of services they provide.
- Lead by example and maintain professional, respectful relationships with staff while appropriately addressing performance concerns.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and retention of DSPs.
- Oversee supports and services provided in group residences, Host Homes, and individuals' personal residences.
- Make a minimum of two visits per month to each assigned individual and additional visits as needed.
- Build relationships with the individuals we support and actively promote their independence, choices, goals, and quality of life.
- Create and maintain DSP schedules and make frequent changes to accommodate staffing needs, employee availability, family requests, appointments, and changes in individual needs.
- Respond to call-offs and staffing emergencies by finding coverage or providing direct support when necessary.

- Manage multiple priorities without losing track of important details.
- Work independently and as part of a team while exercising good judgment.

- Previous supervisory or leadership experience highly desirable.
- Experience in residential or community-based human services preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
THE REALITY OF THIS JOB
This is not a traditional 9-to-5 desk job. Team Leaders spend time in individuals' homes and in the community, managing staff, solving problems, reviewing documentation, responding to unexpected situations, and sometimes providing direct support themselves.
The job can be challenging, demanding, unpredictable, rewarding, funny, frustrating, and incredibly fulfilling—sometimes all in the same day.
If you are someone who takes ownership, enjoys helping people, can handle a fast-moving environment, and wants your work to have a meaningful impact, this may be the position for you.
