Hotel Front Desk Agent responsibilities include registering guests, managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. Perform the night audit operations to ensure the preservation of financial controls and compliance with hotel standards. Coordinate with other departments (i.e., Security, Housekeeping) to ensure quality service is provided to all guests. Ultimately, you will help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare daily Revenue Report data by auditing Point of Service tapes/journals to breakdown revenue pay outs and settlements by type and cashier.
- Run audit reports/journals from the front office system, point of service, and the computer.
- Make corrections and adjustments and handle all computer problems that might occur throughout the shift.
- Input into the front office system revenue/expenses/allowances to generate the daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary.
- Balance all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain files and reset the system for next day operations.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to make accurate mathematical calculations.
- Ability to effectively deal with guest and associate concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, and guests.
- Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and TripAdvisor
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Pay: $10.00 - $11.00 per hour
