We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Body Shop Manager to lead our collision repair facility with energy and expertise. Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of the body shop operations, including workflow management, quality control, and customer service.
- Supervise technicians and support staff, providing guidance on auto body repair techniques, safety procedures, and productivity goals.
- Oversee vehicle repairs from initial assessment to final detailing, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Utilize computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software to accurately assess damages and prepare repair estimates.
- Manage inventory of parts, tools, and materials such as auto paints, aluminum components, metal fabrication supplies, and hand tools.
- Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) use and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding repair progress, timelines, and technical details to foster trust and transparency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in collision repair shop management or automotive bodywork leadership; dealership experience is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in auto body repair, auto painting.
- Familiarity with auto body refinishing techniques including painting, detailing, and aluminum or metal fabrication.
- Proficiency with technical tools such as power tools, hand tools, and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to heavy lifting, use of PPE, hazardous materials like paints and chemicals, and collision shop safety standards.
- Ability to perform defect root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting quality or efficiency.
- Basic math skills for measuring materials and calculating estimates accurately.
- Excellent client communication skills to explain repairs clearly and manage customer expectations effectively.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and standing for extended periods during busy workdays; experience with auto glass installation is a plus.
