Educational Background Required:
· High School Graduate
· The teacher has, or is actively working towards, certification or a degree in Early Childhood Development or Elementary Education.
· Willing to complete additional classes, training, and other annual requirements.
· The teacher has a working knowledge of early childhood curricula and child development.
· Able to pass an initial and later follow-up Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) background check and subsequent background checks.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans that incorporate Christian values, literacy education, math, physical education, and child discipleship.
- Create a warm, safe classroom atmosphere conducive to active learning, behavior management, and individual growth.
- Facilitate classroom activities that promote early intervention strategies, special education needs, and inclusive practices for diverse learners.
- Conduct assessments aligned with standardized testing standards to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support children’s social-emotional well-being and overall development.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently, ensuring smooth transitions and fostering positive behavior management techniques.
- Incorporate age-appropriate lesson planning that emphasizes childhood development milestones and encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, childcare best practices, and teaching physical education or tutoring as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience in early childhood education or preschool settings within private or Christian schools.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles, including toddler care and early intervention techniques.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive classrooms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ABeka curriculum or familiarity with standardized testing processes is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, staff, and students.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field; additional training in special education or literacy education is advantageous.

Pay: $22.09 - $26.61 per hour
