Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet and machinery operating smoothly, supporting our operational goals with precision and efficiency. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, and related mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension components.
- Perform preventive maintenance services on refuse trucks and fleet vehicles.
- Repair and maintain packer bodies, PTO systems, hydraulic components, and related refuse truck equipment.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure compliance with DOT safety standards.
- Accurately complete work orders and document repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns as needed to help minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Work closely with drivers, operations staff, and the maintenance team to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently
Qualifications
- Experience working on heavy-duty diesel trucks required; refuse truck experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, air brakes, and suspension systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently and accurately.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.
- Must have your own basic mechanic hand tools.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
