Job Overview
The ideal candidate will be nurturing, attentive to the needs of children, and have the ability to help children develop at their own pace. Must work well with others and love children. One position may be full time M-F any time up to 9 hours from 7:30am-4:30pm. We are open to teachers with a minimal experience through Master Teacher level candidates. Pay will be based on experience and is only discussed with the owner after an interview.
Must be 18+ and pass a background check.
Training is required prior to working in a classroom. Must obtain CPR/First Aid within 90 days of employment.
A working interview is required to see how the children respond to you and to see how you feel about the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Diapering. Diapers are checked and changed every hour. We do not tolerate staff who do not change diapers.
- Following lesson plans. Weekly lesson plans are posted. You are responsible for following through with them and creating your own crafts. Supplies are provided.
- Cleaning up after the children. We have cleaning procedures that must be followed. You will be trained properly and are expected to follow what you are shown.
- Communicating with parents. We use an app for parent communication. You must be able to communicate appropriately with parents through the app and verbally.
- Documenting activities. All documentation throughout the day is done through our app. An iPad is provided if necessary but you must be able to navigate the app and stay on top of your documentation.
Requirements
- Preferable experience working with children in early childhood education settings or preschool environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, and milestone assessments.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in early intervention programs is highly desirable but not required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments that support diverse learners including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Prior experience in daycare or private school settings is preferred.
- Certification or degree in early childhood education or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
If you receive an interview, you will be sitting with the Director and Assistant Director. This interview may be followed by a working interview. A working interview requires you to be in the classroom, supervised, for up to 2 hours. This allows us to see your work ethic and see how the children respond to you. You will be required to clean up after one meal time and interact with the children in a supervised setting. Diaper changes are not allowed until after you are hired and background checked.
