Children’s Discovery Museum Assistant Job Description
We are looking for two highly energetic and self-motivated individuals to join our team at the Children’s Discovery Museum. We are a non-profit museum that provides free access to children and families to come and play and learn together. We have many exhibits that make learning fun! We are a place where curiosity is contagious and imagination is endless.
Job Duties:
· Greeting museum guests, giving tours to new visitors
· Interact with families by facilitating and demonstrating exhibits
· Setting up/taking down and resetting exhibits
· Assist with Events, Field Trips, and Discovery Room use
· Assist with Community Outreach
· Data Collection/Entry (sign-in sheets/volunteer hours)
· General cleaning of rooms, exhibits, and bathrooms
· Supervision of volunteers, interns, and daily operations as needed
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Hours:
· 10 hours per week, $20 per hour
· Shift one – Wednesday 9:00 am – 2:30 pm, Saturday 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
· Shift two – Wednesday 12:00 pm – 5:30 pm, Saturday 12:00 pm – 5:30 pm
· Hours may be adjusted for special events and programs
Required:
· Ability to pass a Washington State Background Check

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Preferred:
· Background in Early Childhood Development/Education
· Computer Application skills: Microsoft, Google, Canva, etc....
· College degree in a field related to non-profits
· Grant Writing skills
· Fundraising skills
· Accounting skills
· Social Media skills
· Graphic Design skills
Pay: $20.00 per hour
