Title: Floor Sales Associate
Reports to: Store Manager or Floor Manager
Shift: Must be available to work Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays
FLSA: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Position Summary
Primary responsibility for all positions with Harris Ace Hardware is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. Floor associates are responsible for engaging the customer, determining their needs and suggesting the appropriate products to complete their project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist customers to choose the correct products for their project
- Help unload incoming trucks and put away merchandise (as arranged by management). Maintain your assigned department: Keep clean, organized and fully stocked.
- Assist to help maintain cleanliness throughout the store, which includes cleaning bathrooms and emptying garbage as needed.
- Restock merchandise displays as needed, watch end caps and side wings.
- Handle special orders for all non-stock items.
- Attends and participates in all company-sponsored training programs, including Ace Learning Place, as required.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with a passion for details
- Eagerness to go above and beyond and be a contributing factor to the success of the store
- Punctuality and excellent attendance are crucial
- Problem solver
- Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills not required but very helpful.
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
- Ability to lift up to 90 pounds to include moving and handling merchandise and fixtures throughout the store
- Ability to safely lift, reach over head to grasp materials, bend, stoop or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis. Manual dexterity.
